**LOS ANGELES** — The Minnesota Vikings opted to keep tight end T.J. Hockenson out of Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

However, the team intends to activate him to their 53-man roster on Friday, making him available for their Week 9 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on "Sunday Night Football."

Hockenson has been sidelined since tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee during a game against the Detroit Lions on Decem

ber 24. He has spent training camp and the entire regular season thus far on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

The Detroit Lions announced that wide receiver Jameson Williams has been suspended for two games without pay for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy. He will be eligible for reinstatement on November 4, following the Lions' Week 9 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Williams, who will not appeal the decision, expressed his surprise at the ruling through a statement from his agent, Rocky Arceneaux. "I don’t take supplements or vitamins and I’m overly cautious about over-the-counter medicine," he stated, emphasizing that he never intended to cheat or gain an unfair advantage. He acknowledged his responsibility for what he puts into his body and accepted accountability for the situation.

Having attended practices in the past few days, Williams was informed of the violation earlier this week. This suspension follows a four-game ban he received in 2023 for gambling on non-NFL games from a club facility. Additionally, he missed the first 11 games of his rookie season due to an ACL injury sustained in college.

Drafted 12th overall by the Lions in 2022, Williams ranks second on the team with 361 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
